Continuous rainfall has led to the overflow of water from Sukke Kulan in Dhargal, creating hazardous conditions for commuters, especially two-wheeler riders. With no proper drainage or sewer infrastructure in place, the rainwater is spilling directly onto the main road, turning it into a dangerously slippery stretch.
Local residents and motorists have raised alarms over the deteriorating road safety, urging authorities to act before the situation leads to serious accidents. “Every time it rains heavily, the road becomes a skating rink. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt,” said one concerned commuter.
The lack of an outlet for the accumulating water has amplified the problem, exposing a critical gap in the area's drainage planning. Residents are demanding urgent intervention from the Public Works Department and local panchayat to construct a proper drainage system to divert the water safely and ensure motorist safety.
With the monsoon intensifying, the call for swift, preventive action has grown louder to avert potential road mishaps in the coming days.
