At a homestay residential complex in Assagao, the septic tank located right at the entrance is overflowing, releasing foul odours that have become unbearable—not just for those of us living opposite the complex, but also for passersby using the road.
Despite the owners being aware of the issue, no action has been taken to fix it. The matter has also been brought to the attention of the village authorities, yet the problem persists.
This poses a serious health hazard, especially during the monsoon, when the risk of epidemics is high. Sewage water is seen flowing across the road, polluting the surrounding area, including nearby fields. One can only imagine the poor impression this leaves on visitors and the impact it has on the local environment.
I urge the Health Department and the Goa Pollution Control Board to take immediate and strict action to address this blatant public health concern.
