Christians in Goa came together on April 13 to celebrate Palm Sunday, which remembers Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem before his crucifixion. People greeted him like a king, waving palm branches and singing “Hosanna.”
In churches all over the state, people gathered early, holding palm leaves blessed by the priests. Many joined in solemn processions, singing hymns and reenacting the welcoming of Jesus as King. The palm branches symbolize peace and victory, and are often taken home after the service and placed behind crosses or on altars.
Palm Sunday begins a holy journey that continues with Maundy Thursday, which remembers the Last Supper, followed by Good Friday, the day of Jesus’ crucifixion.
Palm Sunday calls us to remember that Christ's reign is one of humility and love. As we step into Holy Week, let us walk with Him in faith and prayer, reflecting on His sacrifice and love. Blessings to all for this sacred journey.

The week ends with Easter Sunday, celebrating the resurrection of Christ and the victory of life over death. It’s one of the most important times in the Christian calendar. Many Goans see this time as a chance to reflect, pray, and prepare their hearts for Easter.
