In a disturbing incident that has sparked outrage in the local community, a woman panch member was allegedly molested by a landlord while on official duty at Bhaidwada, Korgao Panchayat on Friday.
The incident reportedly took place when the panch member was overseeing the execution of an official order to cut down a dangerous tree in the area. During the process, the landlord, identified as Uday Prabhudesai, along with his son Ugam Prabhudesai, allegedly confronted and molested the panch member.
An FIR has been registered against both Uday and Ugam at the Pernem Police Station, and further investigation is currently underway. Authorities have assured strict action in accordance with the law.
The case has raised serious questions about the safety of public officials, particularly women, while performing their duties. Local residents and members of the panchayat have condemned the incident and demanded swift justice.
