Panjim has been honoured with the title of Cleanest City in the 20,000 to 50,000 population category at the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024–25, solidifying its commitment to cleanliness and sustainable urban living.

The prestigious award was presented by President of India, Droupadi Murmu, during a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The recognition comes as part of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ annual cleanliness survey, which evaluates cities across India on parameters such as waste management, sanitation, public feedback, and innovation.

City officials expressed pride in the achievement, crediting the efforts of municipal staff, citizens, and local leaders in maintaining cleanliness standards. The award is expected to further motivate civic authorities and residents to continue working toward a cleaner and greener Panjim.
