Panjim Police Seize ₹1 Lakh Worth Ganja in Campal Drug Bust

In a decisive anti-narcotics operation, Panjim Police arrested a 27-year-old man from Betim for illegal possession of 1kg of suspected ganja near BD Ground, Campal, Panaji. The seized contraband, a green leafy substance, is valued at approximately ₹1,00,000 in the international market.

The accused, identified as Yuraj, who works as a driver, was apprehended red-handed while in possession of the ganja along with a white Toyota Innova Crysta used for transportation.

The raid was conducted by a team led by PI Vijaykumar Chodankar, and included PSI Nitin Naik, PSI Saheen Shetye, Aniket Devidas, Laximan Mhamal, and Shrayesh Sakhalkar. The action was based on intelligence inputs and carried out under the supervision of SDPO Shri Sudesh R. Naik and North Goa SP Rahul Gupta, IPS.

The contraband has been seized, and a formal investigation is currently underway to trace possible links to a larger drug network.
