The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has provided the Goa High Court with a detailed update on the progress of the ongoing smart city development in Panaji. This submission follows concerns raised regarding delays in various aspects of the project.
In the report, IPSCDL explained that the work at Taad Maad is taking longer than expected due to obstructions from existing sewage and gas lines. While acknowledging the challenges posed by these utilities, the agency reassured the court that steps are being taken to address these issues. Despite the delays, IPSCDL expressed confidence that all ongoing work will be completed by the May 31st deadline.
The smart city initiative aims to modernize Panjim with upgraded infrastructure, better connectivity, and enhanced urban services. While certain projects have faced technical setbacks, authorities remain optimistic that the overall development will proceed as planned, with the final phase slated for completion by the end of May.
Additionally, Sanjit Rodrigues, the CEO of IPSCDL, confirmed that the roadworks under the Smart City project have been completed as per the affidavit submitted to the Goa High Court. The court had set a deadline of March 31st for the completion of the road infrastructure, and Rodrigues assured that all roadworks have been finished on time.
The completion of the roadworks marks a key milestone in Panjim's transformation, with plans to modernize the city's infrastructure and improve urban living conditions. With roads now complete, attention will shift to other crucial components of the project, including utility services and public amenities.
