Police seize five luxury cars from con woman

PONDA: Mardol Police have recovered five luxury cars from Puja Naik, a resident of Old Goa, who was recently arrested for allegedly cheating a family in Curti out of Rs 14 lakh with false promises of securing government jobs.

Naik had allegedly assured one family member a position as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and another a Junior Engineer role in the Public Works Department (PWD). She was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) and remanded to four days in police custody.

The Mardol Police registered the

case under Section 318(4) of the BNS Act, with PSI Vibhinav Shirodkar

leading the investigation. Authorities expect to apprehend her accomplice in the case soon.

In related developments, Porvorim and Bicholim police have also registered cases against Naik, with complaints alleging that she defrauded other individuals by promising them government jobs in return for cash.
