Ponda Court Sends Three Men to 14-Day Judicial Custody in Human Trafficking Case

The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Ponda has remanded three men to 14 days’ judicial custody in connection with a human trafficking case.

The accused have been identified as Najim Sadager and Jamedar Murmu, both hailing from West Bengal, and Rajesh Goud from Uttar Pradesh. According to police, the trio was arrested while allegedly attempting to deliver a victim girl to a decoy customer for prostitution in Ponda.

Following their arrest, the accused were produced before the Ponda JMFC Court, which ordered their judicial custody as investigations continue. Police said further inquiries are underway to determine the larger network involved in the trafficking operation.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to intensifying the crackdown on human trafficking and prostitution rackets in Goa, which often exploit vulnerable women brought in from outside the state.
