PONDA: The Ponda Police held a meeting with jewellery shop owners from the town to discuss crime prevention measures due to rising thefts. They encouraged the shop owners to install CCTV cameras and adopt other security measures.
PI Vijaynath Kavalekar appealed to the public to cooperate with the police and urged them to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to ensure timely action to prevent crimes.
Additionally, the police cautioned citizens to be wary of strangers asking for directions or posing as police officers, especially when wearing gold chains or necklaces.
The PI called upon the youth to educate the elderly about cybercrimes to prevent them from becoming victims.
The police also advised bank customers to protect themselves from cybercrimes and online scams by not sharing personal information with strangers.
The shop owners sought the police verification of those taking shelters on footpaths and other public places.
