Prabhav Naik Accuses Goa Politicians of Betrayal Over Coal, Double Tracking Projects

Madganvcho a Awaaz has launched sharp attack on some of the political leaders, accusing them of betraying the peo-ple's trust by maintaining complete silence on coal transportation and the con-troversial railway double tracking projects, despite Indian Railways openly admitting that the project is aimed at facilitating coal movement.

statement In a strongly worded accompanied by a video of past speech-es, Prabhav Naik of Mad-ganvcho Awaaz reminded Goans of how several lead ers had once taken a bold stand against coal.

"In 2020, when Goans were protesting against coal and double tracking, these very leaders roared in full voice, declaring coal as poi-son and projecting themselves as protectors of Goa's environment and people's health," Naik said. "But after securing power, that roar has turned into silence."

Calling this silence "hy-pocrisy of the highest or-der," Naik added, "The same people who once called coal poison now swallow their words only to remain in power. This exposes that their stand was never about saving Goa but only about saving their political positions."

Naik further challenged the leadership to publicly clarify their stand. "Now that Indian Railways has made it clear that double tracking is for coal transportation,

these leaders must answer to the people of Goa. Do they still consider coal as poison, or has the lure of power changed their belief?"

Warning of the grave risks posed by these pro-jects, Naik said, "Coal trans-portation and double track-ing will cause irreversible damage to Goa's environ-ment, health, and heritage. Leaders who once shouted slogans with the people but today remain silent cannot be trusted to safeguard Goa's interests."

Concluding his state-ment, Naik appealed to citizens to remember these "betrayals" when holding their leaders accountable.
