In the wake of the tragic death of a 19-month-old child and a sharp rise in stray dog attacks in Tale Durgabhat, Ponda authorities have launched a rabies eradication and dog vaccination campaign across 17 village panchayats.
Block Development Officer Ashwin Dessai confirmed that the preventive drive is underway with the objective of curbing the growing threat posed by stray dogs and ensuring public health and safety.
“The situation demands urgent intervention. This campaign is aimed at both vaccinating stray dogs and spreading awareness about rabies prevention,” said Dessai.
