The feast of Our Lady of Snows, popularly known as Konsachem Fest, will be celebrated with great devotion and traditional fervour on August 5, 2025, in Raia, South Goa — the first Goan village to ceremonially cut and bless the season’s first corn each year.

The festivities begin with the blessing of the banner (maddi) on July 26, followed by Novena Masses starting from July 27. Each day, two Masses will be held:

  • 6:30 a.m.

  • 5:30 p.m., followed by the Rosary and Mass

On the feast day, August 5, the schedule of Eucharistic celebrations is as follows:

  • 5:30 a.m. Mass

  • 7:00 a.m. Mass

  • 8:15 a.m. Mass, after which the blessing and ceremonial cutting of the first corn will take place at Saibinichi Kongi, led by Fr. Saude Pereira

  • 9:30 a.m. Mass

  • 12:00 p.m. – Final Eucharistic service of the day

Fr Saude Pereira will also be the main celebrant for the feast Mass and will perform the traditional blessing and cutting of the first corn, symbolizing gratitude for a bountiful harvest and marking the beginning of the new agricultural season in Goa.

The Konsachem Fest continues to hold deep cultural and religious significance for Goans, bringing together villagers, farmers, and devotees in a celebration of faith, community, and tradition.
