MARGAO: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNl) has issued a public notice on Tuesday informing users of South Western Railway (SWR) lines and premises along the completed Kulem-Castlerock section that the 25,000-volt, 50 Hz AC overhead traction wires will be energized on or after February 15, 2025.
From this date, the overhead traction line will be considered "live" at all times, and unauthorised individuals are strictly prohibited from working near it, states the notice. Additionally, the Railways have notified road users that height gauges have been installed at all level crossings, ensuring a maximum clearance of 4.78 meters above road level. This measure aims to prevent vehicles with excessive height from coming into contact with or approaching the "live" traction wires, which will be maintained at a minimum height of 5.5 meters above rail level at level
crossings.
