Amid mounting protests over the assault on activist Rama Kankonkar, Goa Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar confirmed that five persons have already been arrested in connection with the case, while efforts are underway to nab the remaining accused.
“We are intensively searching for the remaining accused and will arrest him immediately. The probe has already led to the arrest of five individuals. The motive is under investigation, and we will take the case to its logical conclusion,” DGP Kumar said.
His assurance comes as protestors marched to the Goa Police Headquarters demanding swift justice and immediate arrests. The police shut the HQ gates as a precautionary measure while the demonstrators pressed for accountability and strict action.
