
Renovation work on Ravindra Bhavan, Margao has officially begun, covering key facilities such as the main auditorium, black box theatre, and annexe building. The initiative has been taken up by Margao MLA and former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, with support from Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
To ensure quality and timely completion, a Supervising Committee headed by renowned film and theatre artist Vijay Kenkre has been constituted.
Meanwhile, the Ravindra Bhavan General Council has also decided to celebrate the birth centenary of acclaimed cinematographer K. Vaikunth in January 2026. Centenary events are also being planned for other legendary Goan personalities, including music composer Anthony Gonsalves, film editor Bhanu Dias, painter Laxman Pai, and cartoonist Mario Miranda.
The cultural complex in Margao, one of Goa’s premier hubs for the performing arts, is expected to undergo significant upgrades through the renovation project, enhancing facilities for artists and audiences alike.
