This road just opposite the St Anthony's Church leading to the Chapora jetty is in very bad shape. Beginning from Vaddy Siolim, this is the short cut route taken by tourists to visit Vagathor and Anjuna. The pristine water front beacons visitors. However a huge pothole right at the threshold of entrance from the Siolim side is really scary. The PWD often replaces slabs over the huge pothole here that keeps getting damaged and destroyed. Besides half the road has been washed off with the rains and motorists have to drive on little that is left. Being in a low-lying area, water gets accumulated here with motorists and pedestrians often falling and getting injured. The authorities should keep in mind that tourism is Goa's golden goose and visitors should take home good memories of the State. The public doesn't expect the government to give them the moon but all we ask for is good power and water supply besides good roads. When we talk of injuries due to road accidents, then it is the duty of the government to provide the tax-payers with good roads. It is high time the authorities wake up and repair the ‘craters on the moon’ here as tourists have already started flocking to Goa.
