VASCO: A rider was killed and the pillion rider injured after their two-wheeler skidded and fell into a deep low-lying area on Chicolna-Bogmalo road.
The police gave the name of the deceased as Rounak Kumar, 26 and pillion rider as Neeraj Kumar Shah, 32, both natives of Bihar and presently residing a Verna. Both the injured were rushed to the Sub-District Hospital, Chicalim where Rounak was declared brought dead by the doctors. Shah who received severe injuries has been admitted to the GMC, Bambolim for treatment.
The police have preserved the body at the SDH Margao morgue for medico-legal formalities.
A case of unnatural death under Section 194 of BNS has been registered in this regard and PSI Plato Carvalho is conducting investigations under the guidance of Vasco PI Kapil Nayak and overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
