Road Safety Awareness Action organised at Nuvem

MARGAO: GOACAN organised a Road Safety

Awareness Action along with the Consumer Welfare Club (CWC) of Carmel Higher Secondary School (HSS) outside the HSS gate at Nuvem.

The awareness action was organised as part of the 13th State Road Safety Week being observed from 14th to 20th October 2024.

Around 70 students along with GOACAN volunteers carrying colourful flags, placards and banners appealed to the riders and drivers to wear ISI-marked helmets and seatbelts for their safety.

Some of the placard messages carried by the students were ‘Slow Down, Save Lives”, “Reduce Speed, Stop Fatal Accidents”, “Do Not Drink And Drive”,

“Respect the Pedestrian at the Zebra Crossing”. These messages were important for this road safety

awareness action in view

of the educational institution being located on the NH-17(old).

The awareness action was conducted by Roland Martins, GOACAN Co-ordinator and assisted by CWC Co-ordinators Diana Maria Rodrigues e Coutinho and Debbie Pereira.

Margao Traffic PI Sanjay Dalvi and MVI Percy Coutinho, Jimreeves R Rebello, AMVI Anand Upadaya of ADT Enforcement (South) extended their support to the awareness action with their presence and distribution of informative road safety leaflets to the students.
