VASCO: The Sancoale Village Panchayat will debate and decide on the reply filed by M/s Parmesh Constructions Company Limited (Bhutani Infra) to the show cause notice during the fortnightly ordinary meeting scheduled for 10.30 am on Friday, October 18.
On September 25, the Sancoale panchayat unanimously resolved to issue a show cause notice to Bhutani Infra, demanding compliance with the Mormugao Planning and Development Authority (MPDA) regulations, including submission of necessary documents and NOCs, within seven days.
A large number of villagers had also stormed the panchayat office, demanding that the construction licence issued to Bhutani Infra for the project at Savarfond be withdrawn.
According to panchayat sources, Bhutani Infra has already replied to the show cause notice and this will be discussed during the ordinary meeting convened on October 18. The reply was received within the seven-day period, the sources said, adding that it would be placed before the panchayat for collective deliberation.
The village panchayat will review the reply before determining the next course of action, the sources added. Earlier, in March this year, the panchayat had discussed the matter and issued the construction licence to the project on the same day.
Villagers and activists opposing the Bhutani Infra project are expected to visit the Sancoale panchayat office on Friday, as they remain firm in their demand for the withdrawal of the construction licence issued to the project.
