The NSS Unit of Government College of Art, Science and Commerce in Sanquelim, Goa, partnered with the Mineral Foundation of Goa to organise an Empty Milk Packet Waste Collection Drive on April 29, 2025. The initiative focused on raising awareness about plastic pollution and encouraging responsible waste disposal practices. Volunteers collected discarded milk packets to prevent them from entering local waterways and oceans, emphasising the role of community action in safeguarding Goa’s marine ecosystems.

The drive proved to be important as it highlighted the dangers of non-biodegradable plastic waste, particularly single-use items like milk packets, which contribute to environmental degradation and harm aquatic life. By engaging students and locals, the campaign aimed to foster long-term behavioural changes, urging participants to adopt sustainable habits such as recycling and reducing plastic consumption.
