Santa Cruz Four Pillar Marks 1.5-Day Ganesh Visarjan with Devotion and Tradition

The One and a Half Day Ganesh Visarjan at Santa Cruz Four Pillar was observed with heartfelt devotion, bringing the first phase of Ganesh Chaturthi festivities in Goa for 2025 to a close. Families and community members came together to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha, following rituals rooted in Goan tradition. Unlike the customary tenth or eleventh-day immersions, the 1.5-day visarjan reflects ancestral practices where the Lord’s departure is observed earlier according to local customs.

At the Four Pillar site, devotees gathered with offerings of flowers, fruits, and sweets, surrounding the clay idol of Lord Ganesha. The ceremony began with Aarti and Uttarpuja—thanksgiving prayers for blessings received. Each family head symbolically lifted the idol to begin the procession, while chants of “Ganapati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya” echoed through the air, as children and elders alike prayed for the Lord’s quick return next year.
