Opposition Panch member Inacio Domnic Pereira from the Santa Cruz Village Panchayat has alleged a monthly misappropriation of ₹2.96 lakh under the pretext of labour payments for garbage collection.
Pereira filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on May 31, followed by a supplementary complaint on June 5. However, with no First Information Report (FIR) registered so far, Pereira has now written to the Superintendent of Police, ACB, urging immediate action.
The opposition panch claims the alleged scam involves ghost workers or inflated payment records in the village's sanitation workforce.
“This is public money being drained every month under false pretenses. I have submitted evidence and expect swift investigation,” Pereira said.
The ACB is yet to issue an official statement regarding the status of the complaint.
