Sardesai Slams BJP Over Cabinet Reshuffle, Calls It ‘Congress-isation’ of Government

Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardesai has sharply criticised the recent cabinet reshuffle, accusing the BJP-led government of being dominated by former Congress leaders. Sardesai claimed that the current dispensation no longer represents the political change once promised by the original BJP cadre.

Highlighting the composition of the cabinet, Sardesai pointed out that seven of the twelve ministers, including Digambar Kamat, Vishwajit Rane, Babush Monserrate, Ravi Naik, Subhash Shirodkar, Neelkanth Halarnkar and Mauvin Gudinho, have roots in the Congress party. He argued that this undermines the anti-Congress struggle that paved the way for the BJP’s rise in Goa.

“From 2007 to 2012, BJP workers fought hard for change and against Congress-style governance. That struggle led to the 2012 government built on that promise. But today, the same Congress leadership is back in power, this time under the BJP banner,” Sardesai remarked.

He further noted that former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, once the face of the Congress government, has now been inducted into the BJP cabinet after years of waiting — a move Sardesai said cements the “Congress-isation” of the ruling party.
