PANJIM: The State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) of the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change has accorded Environment Clearance (EC) to Block V - Advalpale-Tivim mineral block.
The block with an area of 36.2202 Ha was e-auctioned to M/s Fomento Resources Private Limited and is located at Advalpale and Tivim villages of Bicholim and Bardez talukas respectively. The EC is for the production of 0.3 MTPA of iron ore, as per the provisions of EIA Notifications, 2006 and subsequent amendments thereon.
The mineral block was e-auctioned in the second phase and an environment public hearing was held for the block in March last year. M/s Fomento Resources Private Limited won the auction with the highest premium of 58.8 per cent of the average sale price by the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM).
