Severe Traffic Congestion Hits Davorlim-Dicapalim Village Amid Bridge Collapse

Published on

The collapse of the Ravanfond Konkan railway bridge retaining wall has forced authorities to divert traffic through Davorlim Dicarpalim Village, resulting in significant hardships for local residents. The alternative route, already compromised by incomplete underground electricity cabling work, has become problematic as trenches left unfilled have deteriorated further due to heavy rains. As a result, numerous vehicles are getting stuck in the middle of the road and near the Davorlim Railway Gate, leading to severe traffic congestion and daily inconvenience for commuters and villagers alike.

The arrival of the monsoon has made things even tougher for the locals, turning the already poorly maintained detour into a risky and difficult path to travel. Both private vehicles and public transport are struggling to get through. Villagers are growing increasingly frustrated, feeling let down by the delay in road repairs and the lack of proper infrastructure to support the heavier traffic. With waterlogged trenches and narrow village roads, getting around has become a real challenge, especially for emergency vehicles and school buses trying to navigate safely.

Residents are now demanding urgent action from authorities, including the immediate repair of the Ravanfond Bridge and the construction of a new bridge at the Davorlim-Dicarpali railway gate. They stress that these measures are essential not only to restore normalcy but also to ensure the safety and well-being of the community during the ongoing rainy season.
