VASCO: The ongoing sewerage improvement will provide households in the Baina area with proper sewerage connectivity besides addressing issues of sewage overflow.
The sewerage improvement works at Baina costing Rs 10 lakh was launched on Monday. Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar said that it was the State government’s vision to ensure that every house is connected to the sewerage line. He said all areas of the port town areas will be connected with sewerage lines and put an end to sewerage issues.
Also sewage pumping stations have been proposed at Orulem, Mestawada, Sai Nagar and Kharewado.
Salkar said that the work of beautification of the Swatantra Path will commence within a fortnight. Also there will be uninterrupted power supply after completing the underground cabling works.
He said that the work on the Up Ramp from Vasco and a new mutton and chicken market with a one-plus-one building structure will start soon. The Vasco garden project is also in the pipeline, he added.
