Six-Month-Old Baby Dies After Choking on Live Fish in Bastora

In a tragic incident at Bastora on Sunday night, a six-month-old baby girl died after accidentally choking on a live fish while playing at home.

According to police, the infant was playing with other children when she accidentally picked up a live fish from a tub and put it in her mouth. She began choking and was immediately rushed to Asilo Hospital in Mapusa, where doctors declared her brought dead.

During inquiries, the infant’s father told police that the fish was part of a tub kept in the house, and the child may have picked it up while unsupervised.

The Mapusa police have registered the case as an unnatural death. PSI Dattaprasad Pandit is conducting further investigations.
