Social activist Auda Viegas has strongly condemned the recent spate of attacks on police personnel in Goa, calling the assaults “unacceptable” and urging authorities to take strict action against those responsible.
The condemnation comes after three police officers were attacked in separate incidents reported in Vasco, Fatorda, and Cuncolim police jurisdictions.
“Such assaults on law enforcers cannot be tolerated. The police must be able to perform their duties without fear or intimidation,” Viegas said, stressing the need for exemplary punishment to deter similar incidents in the future.
The incidents have sparked concern over rising hostility towards law enforcement in the state. Police officials have said investigations are underway, and action will be taken against the culprits.
