Collector South Goa, Ms Egna Cleetus, IAS, chaired the District Lev el Committee, South Goa, meeting to review and de cide on claims received un der the Forest Rights Act, 2006, pertaining to Ponda Taluka. Under Project Adhikaar, a mission-mode initiative launched under the guid ance of the Chief Minister to expedite the settlement of Forest Rights Commit tee (FRC) claims, the Com mittee finalized a total of 67 claims from the villag es of Borim, Ganjem, Shi roda and Usgao in Ponda Taluka.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate and Collector, South Goa District, in par tial modification to earlier Orders, has issued a corri gendum exempting Essen tial Service Vehicles, Six Wheeler Transport Vehi cles, Passenger Transport Buses and Heavy Vehicles.
