South Goa police have intensified their crackdown on narcotics with a special campaign launched on September 11. Since the start of the operation, police have booked eight NDPS cases and seized around 8 kg of ganja. Nearly 12 persons have been arrested in connection with the cases.
Among those arrested is an interstate smuggler from Odisha, accused of transporting ganja from his home state into Goa. Police said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks and curb trafficking in the region.
SP South Goa, Tikam Singh Verma, confirmed that the campaign will continue in the coming days as part of a broader strategy to combat narcotics-related crime.
