A big decision has been taken, or rather, a very good step has been taken by the Sports Authority of Goa towards promoting motorsports in the state by handing over a rally-spec Honda City car to the All Goa Motorsports Association. The car, which was inaugurated by Minister Govind Gaude, will be driven by Goa’s ace rally driver Vaibhav Marathe. This collaboration not only provides Marathe with a state-of-the-art vehicle to showcase his skills but also signals the government’s growing support for motorsports as a legitimate and exciting sporting discipline. The event marks a new chapter for Goan motorsport enthusiasts, who have long awaited such recognition and resources.

By equipping the All Goa Motorsports Association with advanced rally equipment, the Sports Authority of Goa aims to inspire more local talent to pursue careers in motorsports and participate in national and international competitions. Minister Gaude, during the inauguration, emphasized the importance of nurturing diverse sporting talents and creating pathways for athletes from all backgrounds. The initiative is expected to raise the profile of motorsports in Goa, attract more youth to the sport, and foster a culture of competitive racing. With Vaibhav Marathe at the wheel, the state hopes to see greater representation and success in upcoming rally events.
