PANJIM: The newly constituted 13-member Kala Academy Task Force will inspect the Kala Academy Complex on Oct 21 ahead on its first meeting scheduled on October 22, 2024.
An order issued by Santosh Mhapne, Member Secretary, Task Force Committee, said, “The first meeting of the Task Force Committee constituted to review the present status of infrastructure work of Kala Academy and suggest necessary recommendations for improvement and upgradation of Kala Academy will be held on October 22. It is also to inform that an inspection of the Kala Academy Complex is scheduled prior to the meeting on October 21. All members are requested to make it convenient for inspection of the premises and to attend the meeting as scheduled time."
The Task Force Committee headed by theatre artist Vijay Kenkre has been constituted to review the present status of infrastructure work of Kala Academy and suggest necessary recommendations for improvement and upgradation of Kala Academy.
It was constituted following protests by artists over haphazard renovation work of the iconic structure despite spending crores on the work. The committee, which is expected to review present status of infra work of Kala Academy and suggest recommendations for its improvement and upgradation, has officials from Public Works Department (PWD), Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), Kala Academy and representatives of Kala Rakhonn Mand and Charles Correia Foundation as members.
