Unidentified thieves carried out a midnight burglary in Volvonem, Tivim, breaking into a general store and a liquor shop and making off with more than ₹60,000 in cash and goods.
According to local sources, the culprits also attempted to break into the nearby post office and vandalised several parked two-wheelers before fleeing the scene.
Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspects. Patrols have been stepped up to prevent similar incidents.
