Three accused persons were arrested by Mardol police for robbing a two-wheeler rider of cash. The arrested trio had robbed a Rajasthan native of Rs 1.50 lakh near Kundaim in Ponda on October 9.
A complaint was filed by Chaturbhuj Ghintal, r/o Rajasthan on October 09 that near Aai Jee Interior workshop/company IDC Kundaim, Ponda Goa, two unknown accused person occupants of the car (Registration number not known) with their common intention to stop the complainant while he was traveling in his scooter pushed him into the bushes on the side of the road, caught hold the mouth of the complainant and further opened the dickey of the scooter, and committed theft of Rs. 1,50,000 (300 notes of Rs. 500 denomination) from the dickey and fled away from the scene.
During the swift investigation various teams were formed of South District Pl's under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Margao Smt Sunita Sawant & SDPO Ponda Shri Salim Sheikh wherein electronic surveillance was mounted and CCTV footages with cameras was used to apprehend accused persons namely Pawan, Rajbharat Yadav r/o Vasco and Nagaraj Mohan Talwar, r/o Mangor Hill, Vasco da Gama and during interrogation they confessed the involvement in the crime and they both were arrested in the above crime.
During interrogation the chain was established and accused persons also disclosed three associates namely
1 Ashok B. Pandrekar R/o Malbhat, Margao N/o Kodibag, Karwar.
2) Raju Basavraj Waddar R/o Near Amona Cross Quepem.
3) Raju Regi R/o Near Ram Mandir, Mangor Hill, Mormugao Goa.
During investigation all the three associates were also apprehended and arrested in the above crime.
During investigation accused no. 1 and 2 were remanded to 04 days police custody by JMFC Ponda and the vehicle used for the commission of crime were attached in the crime.
During investigation associates of accused persons namely Ashok Pandrekar, Raju Wadar & Raju Regi were produced before JMFC Ponda and remanded to days police custody During the course of investigation stolen property i.e. money were recovered from the accused persons.
