Panjim Police have detained three individuals for allegedly impersonating candidates during the national-level Stenographer and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) examinations held at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), one of the designated exam centres.
The incident came to light during routine verification checks, where discrepancies in identity documents raised suspicion. The individuals were found attempting to write the exams on behalf of registered candidates, in what appears to be a case of organised exam fraud.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to determine whether a larger impersonation racket is involved. The detained individuals are currently being questioned, and further legal action is expected.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of strict vigilance during national-level examinations to uphold the integrity of the selection process.
