Three Held in Cunchelim Communidade Land Scam; Accused Remanded to Two Days’ Police Custody

In a major development in the Cunchelim Communidade land scam case, the Mapusa Police have arrested three more individuals — Raja Anthony, Raju Mandrekar, and Sumit Phadte — for their alleged involvement in the fraudulent sale of Communidade land.

The accused were produced before the Mapusa court and have been remanded to two days of police custody for further investigation. The trio is suspected of playing a key role in preparing fake documents and unlawfully facilitating the sale of community-owned land.

This latest arrest adds to a growing list of suspects in the scam, which has triggered widespread outrage among local residents and Communidade members. Authorities are now probing whether more individuals or officials may have been complicit in the fraud.

Police have assured that a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the land scam and bring all guilty parties to justice.
