In a high-level security meeting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant directed state authorities to intensify vigilance across Goa following recent national security concerns. The meeting, attended by officials from the Home Department, Goa Police, and other security agencies, focused on identifying and monitoring Pakistani nationals residing in the state.
During the review, three Pakistani citizens currently in Goa on short-term visas were identified. The Chief Minister confirmed that instructions have been issued for their immediate departure from the country. Additionally, 17 Pakistani nationals holding long-term visas are under active government monitoring.
CM Sawant announced that a full-scale combing operation will be launched across the state starting tomorrow, aimed at tightening surveillance and ensuring public safety. “Security will be further beefed up across Goa. We are leaving no stone unturned in maintaining peace and vigilance,” he stated.
The move follows a national directive to review foreign nationals’ presence and tighten internal security in the aftermath of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
