Traffic cops in the state are carrying out a formidable task in controlling the flow of traffic at road junctions where there are no traffic signals. In the absence of a traffic police shed at several road junctions, they are seen doing their job under the scorching sun and in heavy rains wearing rainwear.
In the absence of a traffic island, they control the traffic by standing in the middle of the road which can prove dangerous. In some places, as seen in the photo, the sheds are in a dilapidated condition. The civic bodies need to provide adequate protection for the traffic cops from the vagaries of nature by putting up sheds at traffic islands.
