Truck owners in the Curchorem and Sanvordem areas have raised concerns after 8 to 9 cases of tipper truck battery thefts were reported recently. According to local truck operators, the thefts typically occur at night, and thieves are brazenly active even in populated areas.
In response to the rising incidents, truck owners came together to formally highlight the issue, submitting a memorandum signed by multiple local operators to the Curchorem Police Station. The memorandum urges authorities to take stricter measures to prevent such thefts and ensure the safety of commercial vehicles in the region.
Police officials have acknowledged the complaints and assured that increased patrolling and monitoring will be implemented in the affected areas to curb the spate of thefts.
