Truck’s Rear Tyre Sinks in Mud After Incomplete Road Repairs at Parse, Pernem

Published on

A truck’s rear tyre got stuck in the mud along the main road in Parse, Pernem, drawing attention to the poor state of road maintenance in the area. The incident followed recent pipeline and underground cable work along the roadside, after which the road surface was left inadequately restored. Instead of proper hot-mixing, the area was left with loose, unstable soil.

Heavy rainfall further weakened the roadside, making it unsafe for heavy vehicles. As a result, the truck’s tyre sank into the soft mud, leaving it immobilised and causing a disruption in traffic flow.

Frustrated local residents blamed the shoddy post-construction patchwork and criticised the lack of accountability from authorities. They stressed that such incidents could be avoided if roads were fully repaired after infrastructure works. With the monsoon already here, residents are urging officials to ensure that damaged roads are restored to proper standards to prevent further accidents and inconvenience.
