PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday claimed that the government has already disbursed two installments of benefits under the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) and Griha Aadhar schemes to the beneficiaries.
“The first installment was released last week, and the second was issued today. The government is committed to ensuring that all benefits reach the beneficiaries before the Chaturthi festival,” the Chief Minister told reporters in the city.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao alleged that the BJP government has hoodwinked beneficiaries of DSSS and Griha Aadhar by releasing financial assistance of only one month, instead of four months’ dues.
“Fooling the people of Goa has become the trademark of the BJP government in Goa, and it has been admitted by none other than the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s cabinet colleague Vishwajit Rane,” Alemao alleged.
He pointed out that a couple of days ago, Rane made a statement that the Goa government has failed the people of South Goa and that the government cannot always fool people.
“While Rane spoke with regards to health infrastructure in South Goa District Hospital, we charge that the same is in all sectors,” Alemao said.
He said that the BJP government has not just looted South Goans, but the entire Goa.
“Only a few days ago, the Chief Minister announced that all pending dues of the DSSS, Griha Aadhar and so also the other social security schemes will be cleared before Ganesh Chaturthi. But shockingly instead of four months pending dues, only one month’s dues have been cleared,” Alemao said.
