Two Porvorim brothers killed in tragic accident near Mangaluru

PANJIM: A pall of gloom descended on Porvorim when two brothers Ross (44) and Darryl Vaze (56), lost their lives in a tragic late-night accident that occurred on the Mangaluru-Bangalore highway on Wednesday.

According to the police, the accident occurred near Mandya when their Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided with a lorry.

While the Vaze brothers, residents of Alto Porvorim, died on the spot, two other occupants of the car, Nathan Vaze and Neil Faria, sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police stated that the lorry struck the vehicle on its left side, where Ross and Darryl were seated resulting in fatal injuries. Emergency responders rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital but the brothers were declared brought dead on arrival.

The group of four was travelling from Goa to Coimbatore when the tragedy struck. Police are now ascertaining the cause of the accident.

Neighbours say that the brothers were inseparable friends and added that is was very rare to find a relationship like theirs.
