Unpainted road dividers pose threat to motorists

Before the BRICS conference which was held in South Goa in 2016, it was decided to broaden the Margao-Colva road to a 4-lane road.

Hundreds of trees were cut down on either side of the road and broadening was done with a bulldozer, but the road was not tarred. The result was that residents and shops had to suffer dust for 7 long years, until the road was finally tarred with hotmix early this year.

However, the median, lane dividers and sides have not been painted, and pose a death threat to motorists, especially during the nights. The purpose of painting is to reflect light and make dividers visible.

This is inexcusable and irresponsible on the part of the PWD, which should arrange painting of the road earliest.
