Dr. Pramod Pandurang Sawant, the Chief Minister of Goa, has been named one of the eight most influential and representative members and alumni from JCI India for the Asia and Pacific region in 2025. This prestigious recognition by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) underscores Dr. Sawant’s impactful leadership, civic contributions, and enduring commitment to public service.

The honor places Dr. Sawant in the company of other notable Indian leaders and professionals who have made significant contributions to society. These include JC Kumar Gera, Chairman of Gera Development Pvt Ltd; Anil Bonde, Member of Parliament; JC Shine Bhaskaran; JC Kaveen Kumar Kumaravel; JC Sunil Kumar R; JC A M S G Ashokan; and JC Ravi Shankar. Their selection reflects the values of JCI—empowering young people for positive change.

Dr. Sawant’s JCI Legacy and Public Service

Dr. Sawant’s journey with JCI began in 2007 as the Founder President of JCI Usgao. He later played a pivotal role in the establishment of JCI Sanquelim, which he continues to guide and mentor. His commitment to community development is further reflected in his flagship initiative, Swayampoorna Goa, which focuses on holistic rural development and self-reliance.

During his tenure as Chief Minister, Dr. Sawant demonstrated exemplary leadership, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. His proactive governance and focus on public health and welfare earned him wide appreciation.

The award will be formally presented at the 110th Anniversary celebration of JCI Philippines, scheduled for July 17–18, 2025. The event will gather international dignitaries and top JCI leaders to honor those who exemplify service and leadership.

This recognition affirms Dr. Sawant’s role as a visionary leader and reinforces his standing as a key influencer in the Asia-Pacific region through civic engagement and transformative governance.
