The iconic Sambhaji Nagarcha Raja 21-day Sarvajanik Ganesh festival in Vasco once again captured the attention of devotees and art enthusiasts alike. This year, the grand Ganesh idol, uniquely crafted with 48 kilograms of pearls (moti), drew inspiration from the spiritual city of Varanasi (Kashi), making it one of the most spectacular displays in Mormugao taluka.

Organized by the 50-year-old Shantaduga Kala and Krida Sangh from Non-Mon, Vasco, the festival marks 14 years of the group’s dedication to celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. Known for their excellence in drama, sports, and cultural activities, the Sangh’s creativity and devotion continue to earn widespread recognition across Goa.

The elaborate pearl idol and the beautifully decorated pandal attracted large crowds of devotees and tourists, highlighting the community’s cultural richness and artistic heritage.
