
Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, has arrived in Goa for a three-day official visit from May 20 to 22, during which he will participate in a series of significant engagements focused on infrastructure, scientific research, and cultural heritage.
On May 21, the Vice-President will visit Mormugao Port, where he will dedicate new development projects to the nation. During the visit, he will also interact with senior officers and staff of the Mormugao Port Authority. Additionally, Shri Dhankhar is scheduled to board a Coast Guard vessel to meet with senior Indian Coast Guard officers stationed at the port.
On May 22, he will visit the ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI) to interact with scientists and faculty members, highlighting the central government’s focus on agricultural innovation and research in coastal regions.
Another key highlight of the Vice-President’s tour will be his visit to Raj Bhavan, Goa, where he will commission statues of Charaka and Sushruta, revered figures in Ayurveda and ancient surgery, respectively. The statues are being installed to commemorate India’s rich legacy in traditional medicine and health sciences.
The visit underscores the Vice-President’s commitment to engaging with key sectors of national development, from port infrastructure and maritime security to agricultural research and cultural heritage.
