Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday visited the site of an incomplete bridge project that has remained abandoned for over eight years, following mounting public outcry.
Locals informed Sardesai that two contractors had already abandoned the project midway and, despite repeated pleas to authorities, there has been no progress. The prolonged delay has caused significant inconvenience to residents who continue to suffer due to the lack of connectivity.
Taking prompt action, Sardesai called up a Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) officer on the spot and sought an explanation for the mismanagement and inordinate delay. He also conducted a preliminary inquiry into the status of the project.
Assuring the gathered residents of his full support, Sardesai promised to pursue the issue aggressively and raise it in the upcoming session of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
