Water down the drain as pipeline bursts

PONDA: Thousands of litres of water has been going down the drain almost everyday opposite the Lokvishwas Pratishtan building in Dhavalim as authorities have failed to repair the damaged pipeline for almost a month.

Local residents, alarmed by the significant amount of water being lost, say that inspite of bringing the issue to the notice of the Public Works Department (PWD) Water Supply Office in Daag Ponda, which is situated just half a kilometre away, the authorities failed to repair the damaged pipeline till date

Residents said that on one hand, they were facing severe water shortages, on the other, they were disheartened to witness lakhs of litres of water being drained into the gutter. They have urged the uthorities to take immediate action to repair the damaged pipeline and prevent further wastage of this vital resource.
