Residents of Panjim, Taleigao, St Cruz, and St Andre are facing restricted water supply today following a major pipeline breakdown at the Opa water treatment plant on Monday. The Department of Drinking Water has confirmed that repair work is currently underway to restore normal supply.
According to officials, the disruption was caused by damage to a main water pipeline, leading to a significant drop in water pressure across the affected areas. Technicians and engineers were deployed immediately to the site, and efforts are being made to complete repairs at the earliest.
The department has appealed to the public to use water judiciously during the interruption and assured that normal supply is expected to resume once repairs are completed.
